debunking the spiritual myth, "Christians: They think they're better"
our first message in this series was called, "Christians are Mannequins"..just like in Jesus day a few crazy people did a few crazy things and the whole world view of God and his people was messed up.... my job last Sunday..to debunk this myth....

don't miss our upcoming series called, "URBAN LEGENDS"....
we love our community and thank God were able to be a part of what's going on....

what a service we had..... well, we weren't able to have church because the city doesn't work their employees on easter, and that means we couldn't get into the community center where we meet. so, we did this for the second year in a row..... we partnered with the city of HB for the 18th annual Huntington Beach Easter Hunt. it was an awesome time to connect with the very ones we exist for. man we helped set up, we help run the little carnival booths were we gave out prizes to children, we wore the bunny suit and hugged all the kids (thanks to Jake, Boz, and Eric for climbing in the suit that was about 120 degrees and are now in pictures on 3000 refrigerators around HB) we broke down the entire place and loaded it on the huge truck..... in the words of the city officials, "you guys are changing the way we view churches in our city, because there's really been a negative view about churches only caring about their own interests...." WOW. maybe thats why Jesus decided to be your everyday carpenter, just to be one of them...... remember, in our current anti-God world, discipleship starts way before salvation. you got to get into the places where people live and be a part of their world. ya know the modern day "highways and byways"......

well its been pretty hectic since getting the part time job. most mornings I'm at work by 6am and leave about noon. usually running hard after that until late evening, so the blog has suffered. i must say i miss working hard at a job and watching the sun come up, pretty nostalgic. plus it gives way to massive time to seek God and interact with Him about the big picture of my life. funny how the most rewarding part of this temporary journey is not the extra cash that I'm making.
PS - my wife's beautiful..
got a part time job. got to do what ya got to do. I am now and official employee for the City of Huntington Beach. the best part is all the new people I'm meeting being so involved with the city. i am "athletic field assistant". that means i work 4 hours early in the morning on the sports complex softball fields. i drag the infields and chalk baselines for the city league games at night.... love it. outside.... sun on your skin... 1/2 mile from the beach...done by 10am. man, I'd do this stuff for free, just for the opportunity to meet all the new people.
